In that case, I don't think you need to worry about the kick down for passing gear.Duane S

I know that one in a 51 Bel Aire hardtop in 64 with a couple of new holes drilled in the bellhousing so the stock 50 era's Chevy trans and torque tube driveshaft would work will chew the 3 speed up with regularity, over and over and over again. Just my expience.Duane S

292 = more torque than the average 350, but has no HP to speak of. 'Tis a good engine, keep it as long as ittl still turn over. You'll love how smooth they run and how quiet they can be even when straightpiped. The problems start when 4000RPM > acual RPM. I need to know where to get my mitts on one myself, the 250 in my truck is a bit tired of the previous owner's mistreatment and is still taking it out on me...Last edited by 379; 07-01-2006 at 02:30 PM.
It's only a truck if it's workin it's ass off. Anything else is just a car with a box on the back. I know my C10 aint gonna be pampered. If ittl move, I'll keep driving it...
If the motor aint greasy and the rears still have new tire shine on the tread lugs, it's a trailer queen. Let 'em run WFOT!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
