Do I check the transmission fluid in my Turbo 400 when it's idleing???
Hi Everyone, to check the fluid in my Turbo 400 do I check it at idle or can I check it when the motor is off??? If I remember right the trans is suppose to be warmed up to running temperature. THANKS, Bill

Make sure to warm up the motor and transmission fluid first. Start the car, let it come off of high idle, pull the dipstick out and wipe it off then reinsert it and pull it out again to check the actual working level of the fluid.

Do it on a flat surface too. Also many companies recommend a 10 - 15 minute warm up before testing, some even recommend driving the car for a short time before testing.Bob
