T5 questions
I have a T5 from a wrecker, out of a 90 Mustang GT, which I am going to use in my FFR Cobra roadster. I would like to put new seals in, before bolting it to the engine, and connecting the driveshaft.
Question 1-Can you remove and replace the front/rear seals fairly easy on the T5, without buying any special tools?
Question 2- How much play is to much play, on the output shaft? I can wiggle mine side to side, and up and down, but just a tad. Perhaps 1/16-3/32in guessing.
Question 3-The previous owner installed a Hurst Pro-Grabber shifter, which I was happy to see. I do notice that one of the bolts holding it down is slightly raised up, like it wasn't tightened all the way in. Should I try and gently wrench it down, or has there been issues with case threads getting stripped, from bolts being to long, or other install issues with these shifters? I hesitate to "adjust" something, just in case it gets worse...
