Thanks, I did know about this one. Cost is high and to much missing. Car condition looks very poor.

I don't know what the price is but for an unrestored extremely rare car I'd say this is the best you're ever going to find. The condition looks pretty good to me. I've been restoring much worse cars for years. If this was a 32 Ford in similar condition I don't think you could get it for less than $20,000." Im gone'

Muntz Jet
Hello,
I saw your post. I have an unrestored Muntz Jet that I would like to sell. It is the steel body. Needs complete restoration but is a good builder. Please email me with any questions.
Thanks,
Brian

Anyone know how many were originally made? I've been following the car hobby for fifty years, and never seen one in person.
Never mind.... I Googled it! Fewer than 400 built. That is very very rare. If you find a car with all of the pieces you cannot make yourself, I would grab it.Last edited by HOTRODPAINT; 07-11-2010 at 04:54 PM.

If he hasn't found one in the past 5 years since the original post, he probably has taken up fishing instead.

Fish not biting, huh? Just a couple of nights ago I was watching some show on TV that I had never seen, something about this guy who finds rare old cars and sells them later on. They had a Muntz Jet on there, a really primo one, and he took it to an auction expecting to get about $ 175 K for it but I think it sold for about $ 95 K. The market is obviously very soft right now, even for cars of that level. He took it to Pebble Beach, which should have boosted the value, but still didn't bring what he thought it was worth.
Very neat looking car though.

Merry Christmas ya'll
