The problem is not finding one in that range (they are on Ebay every day of the week) the problem is finding a GOOD rat rod. Most of the ones I see on there are garbage, and would need so much to make them safe and dependable it would not be worth buying one.
Why not build your own? After all, that is one of the cornerstones of the rat rod craze, doing it yourself.
But, if that doesn't appeal to you, send me the $ 10K, and I'll whip one up for you.

Don, knowing what I know about your capabilities, I would strongly advise goatkiller to take you up on your offer.
I've been thinkin' that a guy could start with a S10 Chevy cab and cut the top off, leaving the windshield in place. An old-style bed could be cobbled up out of sheet metal and use a straight axle up front with a tractor grille shell. A small block Chevy is a shoo-in and a 9" from a late 70's Bronco would make the call to duty out back.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

I'm sure he's long gone; but it is a cool thread to post junk with absurd prices. Might as well keep it going for entertainment.
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
