Donor truck
I have a 1941 Dodge PU, frame and running gear bad, body pretty good. I am looking for a suitable donor truck which will accomidate the body. Are there sites which give frame specs for various years. This will end up being a semi street truck so authenticty is not a consideration. Thanks

Patrick,
The S-10 Chevy's seem to be pretty popular for that sort of thing. I think the key thing is they are narrow enough. Most modern trucks are quite a bit wider than the 30s and 40s trucks.
One thing to do is get your tape measure out and figure out your length, width, track and wheelbase then start measuring trucks that you see to find some likely candidates.
I am not aware of a specific site with the data, but you could try going to www.google.com and searching for Truck specifications or truck wheelbase. Just keep searching till you find what you need. Be creative in your searches.
good luck
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

donor truck
Thanks for the reply, track width is 60" wheelbase 117, I thought there might be a location ,maybe in the frame alignment world, where I could find measurements of various trucks so I would be able to start looking for a suitable donor truck. These old Dodges are so clunky looking I thought one with a new Hemi might be neat.

A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
