Question seek- pre-smog body for my Q motor

Yah! I am new to the site. I guess my motives are limited for now, but I have several friends in my (class, age, etc) involved in cars, mods, and racing. I was recently talking to a close friend, a mechanic for Lucas Racing, about doing a swap with my beat up Q45. He suggest that I find a pre '73 car for smog exempt. I am looking for a site, classifieds, or forum that can help point me to available body/chassis or cars ripe for this type of swap. I welcome any 'friendly' advise on the subject.

In return I can offer the name of an (if not the) expert on Weber Carb repair/rebuid

I want to avoid having a kit car, 'anything- cobra looking' or fancy Italian, 240-260Z, style, or 'old' roadster

Got no pics of the beat up car - and you dont wanna see them.

What size weedwacker motor is that?, theres nothing out there for that type of swap really. When you think about it, your Q motor is If I remember right somthing like a 4.2 V8 or 6. It is very complicated because of the complex computer controls that the q45 has like obd2 if it's '96 or newer which it probably is. With the swap, your looking at rewiring the entire car with the entire wiring system of the Q45, getting motor mounts for the motor and a a few other odds and ends that you'd need. Would it be worth the effort? In reality, you want to put a smog motor in a pre smog car, what is that doing? just getting rid of the need for a cat converter which in newer cars dosen't do much anyway because the engines are desighed to burn so clean. What I suggest, get an old early 70's Camaro, put a 350 in it ( unless it has bigger motor ) and forget about the Q so you can eat all the ricers up.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone
