    Purchasing a 79' GMC 454 any Suggestions?

Hello, I will be buying a 454 from a 1979 GMC 3500 truck 1ton, and Im thinking on installing it in my 1973 nova. Would the nova handle the power from a big block? since it was powered by a 350. Alot of people tell me that it is too much weight and it will mess up the suspension along with the frame! But I dont think so, I feel that if I rebuild the front suspension with polyurethane components along with moog suspension parts and subframe connecters for more frame strenght. with these parts it should be able to handle pretty good? What do you guys think! Thanks Danny.

    Rat Nova

You will love the big block in the Nova ! I have a 72 Mark 4 in my Nova . When I fire it up you can feel the power it is awesome . I have heavy duty springs in mine and I actually would like to cut them a little. It also seems a lot liighter in the rear. I plan on moving a little weight around . Battery in the trunk , fiberglass hood and maybe Aluminum heads someday . They are heavy around 750 lbs but I think it is well worth it. Welcome aboard the Big Block Nova club!
