    Question Dart heads, advice needed

Hi, i am new to the board and don't know very much about engine stuff and need advice. I have a pair of BBC 588CI 1050hp engines in my boat. It has merlin steel heads. I droped a valve seat this week and did a bunch of damage to one of the engines. I wiped out 1 head, 3 pistons etc. I am going to rebuild both motors. The suggestion of the engine builder is to go with Aluminum Brodix heads. i have been told by several people, they are not the main choice of most people. My engine builder is very thick headed. His way is the only way (I'm sure most of you have run into engine guys like this). I found 2 sets of new heads that sound like a great deal, please tell me if it sounds like a good option. I can buy both sets for $5500. I was told by the person that has them which is very crdible, they were over $10k fr the 2 pair. Here is what they are.

New Dart 355 cnc Pro 1 heads.
    250lb Isky springs
    Titanium retainers
    titanium locks
    guide Plates
    Big Fero valves
    CNC portrd by Dart

I appreciate any advice!! Thank you

Cant give advice on a boat engine or heads, simply because that's not what I do...the needs are quite different than a car engine. Awsome engines there, at any rate!!! Anyway, I just looked up the heads you mentioned....Dart Pro1 like you spec'd sell for 3130.00/pr assembled with good springs, retainers, etc.... So if they're new, that's a good price...but I dont know how they came up with 10K....that sounds really high to me. Oh, welcome to the board!! John

Thank you very much. He said there was some special porting work and because of the valves and titanium stuff they were more money. He said they were completly custom with the components in them. Who knows the true story. I will tell him the price I found was $3130 a pair and see if he can do any better. Thank you very much!!! Here is what they go in.
