Hey Pat, thanks for responding. As you have basically the same car as I have I am very interested in your imput. I will be running this car on the street for the most part, although I would like to take it to the track every now and then. I would like to run mid-high sevens at the most at the track. I have a 396 in it now, but the cam is way too big, it must have too much clearance some where as the oil pressure is very low once warm, no stall to speak of, and to high gears in the rear. I just bought the car, and it was nothing what i was told it was. It does drive however, so unless the 396 dies tomarrow, I really want to build a bad boy to put in her. I really want something that will eat up most things on the street. It has 3" exhaust on it now, and as far as hooking I really cant tell because the combo's in it are way off, and I have no bottom end, I think an automatic, 6 cyl, camaro would outrun me. Although I will say it sounds really tough! I know that strokin it to 4.250 and boring will give me more c.i. I was kinda hoping that i could find a virgin block, and run standard bore, only because this will give me more life out of the block potentially. By the way while we are on the subject, a guy I know of has a 454 block, .040 over, 2 bolt main, with 1 sleeve, that the hasn't finished honed, and says may have to go to .060 over. What would something like that be worth? Just block, nothing else.
I wore a camouflage T-shirt once. The response in the pub was "Oooh, it's a floating head!" .
