Rocker Stud Girdle
I was at a dyno this weekend trying to work on getting my blown (6-71) BBC running good. We did manage to get 500HP at the wheel (@5100RPMs) but after making another jet change the engine smoked the clutch.
Anyway...
It was reccomended to me to get a rocker arm stud girdle to strengthen the valve train. Not too many available for a big block though just wondering what you might use. I'm thinking about one from trick flow it's about $250.

Actually I have no idea. I know they are AL, and I know they have square ports on the exhaust side. (oval?)

If you have oval port heads try www.competitionproducts.com.The stud girdle sells for $163.00 plus shipping. You really don't need one unless you are running a roller cam or a high revving soild cam.

Ok I understand your opinions on the stud girdle. I probably don't need it, especially since this car is just street driven at a snails pace most of the time. I'll save my money for a clutch which will be my next topic.
Thank you Roger. .
