Setting the valves on my 454 . I just wanted to know what kind of feel to you get on the pushrods . I realize they should bind a little in your fingers when tightening them down ,but how much . I would appreciate any tips , thanks.

Assuming you have hydraulic lifters, tighten the rockers till you feel resistance to turning the pushrods. When there is slack, there will be virtually no resistance at all. New, dry lifters are tougher, there's no oil in them so you have to wiggle the pushrod up and down to get a feel for the spring in the lifter. Its a knack that comes easy after a few times.

Yes they are hydraulic. They also have oil in them. Thanks for your help I am going to finish adjusting them today. I have to take the winshield cowl off and the wiper motor off to get the drivers side valve cover off.
