The ratmotor didn't come out until 1965, so it isn't a 50's pickup.
If you think about your question for a minute, you're asking for an estimate on an engine that is unidentified, and with no idea if it runs or not. That isn't much of a description to work with.
I suggest that you look at this site, then find some numbers for reference, and the number of miles on the vehicle if possible.

On the other hand, if all I knew whas what you posted, I'd hand over $20.00 and hope I wasn't buying a boat anchor.Jack

Well you think somebody may have put that big block in that 50's truck? I think maybe so. I was asking if the big blocks had any visual features like the harmonic balancer or the shape of the exhaust ports or if you can look and visually see if its a tall deck or short. The last truck (m37) I bought from this place had a new flat head L6 in it so I would be willing to take a gamble on it. So you think its worth 20 bucks, ok does anybody else have an idea. A core should be worth more than that even if i turned it in for a long block would'nt it? its not somthing I would put in somthing to run, i would take it completely down and rebuild. But if its an undesirable block I may as well leave it to get crushed.
