well i do not know what you are asking ?the cam i put down would be a good cam mild street /strip but i do not know you .there are some hard core guys running bigger cams than that and i have put some in but below 3000 rpm s you may not like them big cams on low speed driving . on the heads you tell me how much you what to spend and if you are looking for iron or alum. O ports can do a very good job and a low rpm engine will work better with them. for hi mild to top end the rec ports but port size cc are really what you asking? if you go big ports they will not work good at low rpms

    CAM to BIG

Megaman like PAT said don't go to big on the cam,my Monte mite and i do mean mite see some slite street usage,I run a LUNATI Pro street cam 3500 rpm range with 4.10 gear.CAM LIFT:615int/620ext DURATION 362int/365ext pistons cut heads milled,.045thick head gasket, double valve springs, long slot rocker arms.(ETC)the problem I ran in to is my power Brakes no longer worked .the big cams don't make enough vacume to run brake BOOSTER.and do not work to well with vacum secondary carbs.now I have to switch to a differant master-cylinder (IE) non power brakes.

eek. well for the heads im willing to fork out a few grand, and aluminum, so im not limited too much as for the cost. ill have to run that cam or one similar and see how i like it first. okay i want to build the 468 mentioned in chevy hi performance. the ''ROAST RAT'' check that out and let me know and what you would recomend. i was planning on running a few different parts, like the carb and different exhaust. but thats what im going for.

i did see the build but do not think the cam i told you i would run is that far off. if the build they did you like. then build this one. why ask? if you are looking for a build that as been done for more power then that one?here is the way i see this. they have more money and parts they can get there hands on for them dyno runs. the small guy don't have the time or parts. i have built many big block and not every one get on the dyno. this cost time and money if you build it the way they did there is no way for sure you will get them numers more or less. i do not spend much time with a guy that come in my shop with a hot rod book in his hands. they are looking for something to get done and they do not know how to do it. but want you to tell them what is better then what they just pick up on the stand ?for the prices of the book ? that is to say if i had the killer engine com and i told every one what it was. how would i make a living ? i do not sell books and i have no companies paying me to use there parts .so at this point i may to you sound like a smart ass ? but i can only tell you what i think. but if you are checking me with someone else build then build that?

well the way i see this if your go up on the cam you will need more cr and if you go to a bigger cam you will need bigger heads if want to make big hp.and will have take it where the cam make power and at this point you will be making HP not Tq so at 2500 rpms the car will not make any hp and not much tq so you have to be carefull not to go to big on the port size of the head or the cam if the cr is low
