well honing takes time and not to many want to pay for the tq plate job so on stock build jobs i may not. like for a inline 6 or a stock old 350 but on all hp stuff or someone that wants to pay for the plates i will do it . i will add at that time the rings should be fitted to the bore with plates on. some engine must have tq plates on them like 455 buicks and the 302 fords they move so much

i have had that car for 28 years just do not drive it any more and i can not maintain it. so it rolling art. i take the cover off look at it think about the work it still needs and cover it back up it cheaper that way
