What gains from 781 vs 236 heads?
I think I might have found a set of stock 781 heads to put on my stock 454. What gains could I expect from the head swap and a bit bigger cam?
The car runs 13.46 now with the stock 454.

quite a bit, depending the size of your cam, you could unleash 30 horsepower, 236 are only good for stump pulling torque and that it. 781's are very good heads and they flow very well and will make a 454 scream with the right parts!
236 heads make very good paperweights and boat anchors!

I suspect it would cost more than 600 to make the stockers similar to the ones for 900?

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
