    I would run a 8-71.
Or you could buy a Pro charger and use one "blow-through carb".
You will need two blower carbs if you run a 8-71.
    What are your cam specs?
I also would like to know what pistons you are using and a part number to obtain a comp ratio of 7.to 1 with a 119 cc cylinder head.

the cam specs is :Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller
    duration @0.05'' 241/249
    lift 625/625
    lobe 110/106
    RPM Range: 2600-6600
Hydraulic Roller; Serious Street/Race cam. Needs 10.5:1 compression and 3200 RPM stall converter. Works with moderate nitrous and small
    superchargers. Very "Healthy" idle quality.

The Pistons are lunati D shape pistons but its comp. ratio is 7:1 with 119 cc

The pistons you have listed are for a 4.0 stroke not a 4.25 stroke.

To make serious hp with a 489 and a blower you would need a 8-71 and it is not a small blower.
I would look at cams that are ground on 110/112 or 114.
I would look at a cam that favors the exhaust by about 10 degree's.
A good example would be a Comp. cam part #11-414-8.
This is a retro fit hyd. roller
    The specs. are 242/254 @.050, the lift is .566/.575 on 113 l/s.
The power band is 2,400 to 6,400 it would be a little less in your 489.
I am not saying you cam won't work but there are better cams out there.

We have made well over 850 hp with that cam in a 496 on pump gas and 9 lbs. of boost with a 8-71.

I would run twin 850 carbs for blown applications.
No you don't need the "pop-off valve" but I would run the aluminum blower studs.

871 is good but a 671 would do . like the bm sealed blower this would have to do with what you are going to do with it and 750 carbs work good i have a548 with a bm mega and it works just fine with two 750 i have never had any one say it would run better with a bigger blower or carbs when it spinning the tries off in 3 gear when it run in to booost but if you are going balls out then yes put the big blower on and big carbs but you will have to find away to hook it
