IF IT's ANYWHERE UNDER 800 HP USE THE FELPRO O-RING (STEEL) FOR IRON HEADS AND THE COPPER O-RING FOR ALUMINUM HEADS.IF ITS SOME SERIOUS HP, USE THE MLS FROM COMETCO OR FROM FELPRO. IF YOU LIKE OLD SCHOOL LIKE ME!; USE A COPPER GASKET W/A RECIEVER GROOVE IN THE BLOCK & THE O-RING IN THE HEAD, YOU CAN DO IT THE OTHER WAY TO ! ITS JUST THE WAY I WAS TAUGHT,[GROOVE INTHE BLOCK/RING IN THE HEAD.]
I JUST PUT SEALENT AROUND THE THE WATERTPORTS ON BOTH SIDES,RUN DISTILLED WATER W/A SEALER AND I HAVENT HAD ANY LEAKS,[knock on titanium]
THERES LOTS OF WAYS TO SKIN THAT CAT!(or should i say ratt)
THIS IS JUST THE WAY IVE DONE IT.TT572ZZILLA

fel pros head gaskets or rol gaskets with grafoil heads gaskets . for mild builds are good.if your building 800+ the MLS cometics or fel-pros race gaskets like a 1017or 1017-2 ,1037,1067 can be used i have used a lot of the 1017 with very good luck with hi CR i would use the M LS .on Oring I not a big fan of them for street use less you are dumping a lot of Nos or boost THE HEAD NEED TO BE DEAD FLAT AND the DECK . with a good finsh . qt the heads down with good fasteners studs or bolts i would say this is over 1/2 the battle. if using bolts make sure you lube the under side of the bolt head to get a good TQ read and if studs use the moly or oil there are to deferent TQ for oil and moly if using a composite head gasket TQ up. mark the heads of the bolts back off 1/2 turn or nuts and reTQ this helps with the head gaskets and the TQ of the fasteners. there is more gaskets like the ics titans but have not used them and have used MR gaskets head gaskets all with good luck but i aways cut the deck and heads on a build less dead flatLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-30-2007 at 10:44 AM.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
