alot of the stuff that really counts is in front of the valve and the back side of the valve/ bowl of the port short side radiused is is some thing you should not play with the stock big block heads do not have much of that . the intake port is fine stock a port match is not worth much and it is fine to if it is a must do for you but it is better to have the intake fit up to the port rigth.this is not a guarantee that the port will match any thing but your gasket. things i would do and have done is 3 angles valve job cut the bowls out blend the 60 angle in to the short side with a sanding roll or drum but i like the mx or cratexs adrasive points i cut all the junk out past the 30 angle in the head chambers and move the chambers abit around the valve un shroud not all the way up to the head gasket. back cut the valves and you can thin out the guilds some but not to much the ex port guid is wet and go 11/32 stem valves any more than this buy a better set of head s. OH do get good eye protection there is nothing like paying $400 to get iron out of your eyes hard to make any money doing a job when you have to get this done been there to many timesLast edited by pat mccarthy; 02-11-2007 at 05:46 PM.
