    427T questions

Hi, I am new on this forum and have been looking around at other posts for the 427's for awhile now but still need a little more information. I picked up a 427 Tall deck for $300 with a brand new moroso oil pan, new weiand intake manifold spacers, new melling hp oil pump and a brand new engine stand. I know i got a good deal and that is why i want to build this engine and not go for another bb. I have read that alot of people dont like to build the 427t's because they can be a pain in the ass sometimes, the way i look at it is though i am only 19 and this will be a good learning experience right? I am not worried about fitment issues either it is going into an 1984 k10 chevy. Now, some questions that i have are... I would like to get about 500 hp and 500 torque out of this engine on pump gas and i am willling to pay whatever for it, now i have seen many posts by pat mcarthy and im sure you know how to do this, if u or whoever could include the necessary parts, books or whatever may help me would be awesome if you have any questions about the block or i may have forgot something please feel free to email me or post it, but again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if you go with just a 4 1/4 crank will fit. if you can send a photos of the crank case i can tell if the 4 1/2 crank would work some of the T427 blocks had cut out in the block like a454 the 4.3/8 will work to and you do not have to grind much for any of the cranks really if you run a steel cap screw rods you would be better off having this done for you by some one that has done it a time or to have them mock it all up then you can do the finale if you want to say that you had a hand in it or send it all to me and tell every one you built it happens all the time

Pat, can you tell me some of the specs of the 427T? Stock Bore, stroke, what size crank it comes with stock? thanks

Oh and also the block has 2 sleeves in it and took a dial bore and measured out the bore and its all within 1/2 thousandths even the ones with sleeves still worth putting money in?

if you are saying the bore are tapper from top to bottom less than a 1/2 a thou 5 tens that is good if there are size are diffrent that may be from the size of pistons i have seen pistons in the same set 001.3 smaller or bigger i fit every piston to the bore if they are like this it happens . if was TQ plated that will move the top of the bores you want to have the main caps tq down to when checking bores////// 6.135 rods stock

ok, so then i would probably go with 4 1/4 crank, how long of rods? the block is alredy .40 over so i have 4.290 bore. what name brand would u prefer for pistons, rods, crank, heads, cam? and where can i get these? the 427t have 4 ring pistions instead of 3 where would i get those, i havnt seen them anywhere? and is the bore of a 427 the same as 454 4.250? Thanks

not really i did see your post and have posted on this many times .your build can be done but i think it would cost the same to go 525 and that build would be the same all parts can be had for the 525 that were i would start if you have a block like i said you need
