This makes a very nice package.... looks factory installed & performs well. However, I have heard some complaints about Whipple's warranty service.

I just posted a question re: a cam upgrade for my '94 burb. I made inquiries at a local GM truck only dealer about supercharging. They said they no longer install them and do not recommend it. Too many problems and too high maintanance. You can call their service dept and ask them yourself. A very reputable outfit up here in Portland Or. DSU Peterbuilt and GMC Trucks Inc 503 285 7771
Ask about superchargers in general before mentioning a brand.
I'd also call Gale Banks, in So Cal, and ask about their Power Pack for your Vortec. If it does as much for your Vortec MPI at 9:1 compression as it did for my TBI at 7.8:1 , you'd be real pleased.

Derek: I'm re-thinking the supercharger issue. The Whipple looks pretty tempting, especially for my 8:1 motor. I would certainly call whipple and ask them about your concerns about longevity. I've listed some questions, I would ask, in my post about welding up combustion chambers.
I don't know if you've done any price looking but add this one to your list.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
