Is this going to be a problem?
Well, I was getting ready to paint the block on my 454. As I was taping up the heads around the intake, I noticed the cross over heat riser ports are exposed on the heads...The intake doesn't cover them.
Is this a problem? Are these under pressure? I believe they are tied into the exhaust ports somehow. I think my intake gaskets will cover these up...
See these pics...with intake in place:

Some pics..without the intake:

I beleive this is the correct intake for the motor. Its a Edelbrock Performer 2.0 dual plane. The motor is 454 out of '84 c3o wrecker.Last edited by Gusaroo; 06-02-2007 at 05:16 PM.

no the intake will work .the port is to the in side of the open part of the head casting the cavity that you see is not the port ,what you need to worry about to cover is about 1 1/4 by 1 the casting cavity around the port is to keep oil off is port the gasket will cover the port part of the heads is has nothing to do with how it will runLast edited by pat mccarthy; 06-02-2007 at 05:39 PM.

I never noticed it before
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
