    Camshaft install / swap

I plan to swap out my cam this afternoon in my 454. I have never worked on a big block before, anything different than a small block I should be aware of?

    Valve adjustment? etc?

    I am using Hydraulic lifters...

Nothing different really. With the amount of cam failures take every precaution. There is another thread right now about installing a solid flat tappet cam. read it and othe rcam thread to be sure of things like using that thick moly lube on cam and lifter bottoms, adding more after cam has been istalled, be sure to use ligth valves srpings for break in, be sure timing is correct for a quick start not never ending cranking etc.
