If all you're looking to do is raise compression, sure the small closed chamber heads will work, but they don't flow well at all... valves are small and intake will be shrouded no matter how much you work the chamber.
There may be other opinions but I think 9 times out of 10 you'd be better off with the heads you've got (unless they're peanut ports?) give up a little compression for a lot more flow...
two cents,
Chris

This post sounds familiar.
Are you the guy that typed in the wrong gasket thickness (.0025 instead of .025) and miscalculated your static CR???There is no limit to what a man can do . . . if he doesn't mind who gets the credit. (Ronald Reagan)

You will raise compressionwith a smaller chamber.
You MIGHT have a problemif you have domed pistons designed for OPEN chambered heads.
You MIGHT have a problemwith detonation (correct me if I have the wrong term in there) if your compression winds up being too high. Is it a pump gas motor?
I agree with Skids 100% but more info will yield more opinions as 30-A says....
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
