Another BB Engine code question!
I have a 396 in my 69 Camaro and am confused as to the engine code stamping or lack of! The block is a 1968 3935440. The code stamping on the block pad in front of the right head reads as follows: T050215 8y184725. Can anyone decipher what these 2 sets of #'s mean?

I expected the sequence "T050215" to contain 2 letters on the end, but instead there is a 15. Does anybody know why this is or am i missing something?

The second set of numbers is a VIN....see if it matches your car. The first set is the engine build location and date. I believe it goes something like this
T.....tonowanda, ny
05....May
02....date
15....???? are you sure it says "15" ?

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
