tall deck big block, need help please!!
Hi, i am beginning the planning stages of my engine build, i want a 10.2'' deck height big block that i can bore as large as possible safely, was there any 10.2'' deck height big block engines installed from the factory in any gm trucks? 454? trying to steer clear of the $3000 merlin block which are nice but this is a budget build somewhat, i will be using the worlds balanced rotating assembly kit. As long as i can find out which vehicles had these engines i am pretty frugal with the salvage yards around here so i should be able to find one if i know what vehicle and possible a block casting number, or if this block is even made, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks .

the older blocks 70s are thicker.. how much? had one that would go easy to 190 over on bore but there is a lot of cutting on the block to get any thing with a stroke to clear over a 4.250 could be work .the newer ones with the mark 5/6 blocks i would not buildIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
