    496 BBC buildup

hey everyone, just wondering, if youre building a 496 BBC in a mild blown 6-8 pounds boost application with one of them weiand pro street blowers would you really notice on the street the difference in rod ratios between using the 1/4" longer rods these engines respond so well with or using stock length rods? im guessing you wouldn really would you because on the street ya arent tryin to milk every last bit of power you can get like if youre racing and you probably WONT notice 20-30 odd hp and torque difference and with the blower it isnt exactly gonna be short on power either way is it, any thoughts? cheers

lots of times you need a longer rod for a stroker engine so the bottom of the piston will clear the crank counter weights

yep and if your going to 4.250 crank even with the small blower you may want to go to the longer rod the pistons will not be any more i have built them both ways with short rods and longer rods . longer rods help with more counter weight that helps if your going internal balance
