rhodes lifters
Does anyone have any experience using Rhodes lifters? I am biulding a 496 for my mud bog truck and must pull 16'' vac at 1000. They claim an increase of 2-6 in.I am going with a Howards solid roller 4/7 swap with 260/270@50 680/680 with114 lsa.Their tech suggested this grind and said it would pull but no guarantees. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If it's a puller truck, why the concern with vacuum? Soid roller lifters are a completely different deal, no hydraulics in the lifter.......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I run in a street class with only 1 rule-must pull vac. I guess their way to limit cam size. Most folks live on the edge but I would prefer to stay legal .

I agree with Dave. As far as the lifters go, I have a set in my 350 it helped a little with the vacuum. Now my power brakes work better...Our race team page

So, are you going to run a hydraulic cam, or a solid roller? Guess I'm still confused.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

yup, you have to run solid roller lifters on a solid roller cam. Rhodes lifters are made to work with plain old flat tappet hydraulic cams, not roller cams....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

thanks Chuck. Thought I saw they came out with a roller. Any other ideas to help increase vac? I have a vac hose that sticks thru the grill for easy access for the techs to connect their guage. If I were to hide a cannister would the vac escape when they pulled the cap or will it retain enough to pass inspection?

Ok, but are they for hydraulic rollers or solid rollers???? Not being one to run hydraulic lifters, didn't know they made them.... Ad doesn't really say if they are for solid, hydraulic, or both types of rollers??????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
