    O.K,now I feel better.
If you go low deck with an after-market block then you could build a 582 which is the largest you can safely go I.M.O on the low decks.
It will cost you about $500 more because it will require "custom pistons".
If you go "tall-deck" then I would go 598.
The 632 cost more because of the crankshaft.
The other problem with the larger 632 is you will need to spend some money on good heads if you want to make the horsepower.
On the larger 632 a set of 345 Dart or 345 AFR head won't be enough.
Even if you get them CNC'd it still won't be enough to feed an engine this size.
I would look at a set of the new Man-Eater heads from Brodix in the smaller 377 cc oval port size or a set of BMF in the 385 cc size,or a set of the Pro-Filer heads in about the same size.

I've 3 sets of heads already and i dont want to spend anymoney on heads, i've Dart Iron Eagle 345cc, Dart Big cheif and Dart 355.

low deck 582ci ?what is it because i thought the largest you can go is 565ci!!

what is the stroke and piston size for 598ci?

I've started thinking of building a 572ci tall deck, what do you think?

nerwbie opinion : I know you said no forced inductions but I know where two sbc blower motors are. I once asked the editor of Cleveland's Cruizin Times Magazine (daily cruizins, 2 + car shows per summer week end, and member of a 50 year old hot rod club the question : What engine would you put in a Model A : LS1, 454 BBC, or a blown SBC? Without hesitation, he fired back Blower motor. People actually follow those cars into cruisins to check'em out. Course I ASKED THE QUESTION IN 2004 WHEN GAS WAS LESS THAN $3.00/GALLON.
    "Chance favors the prepared mind"

Car Cruisin spectator remark about my suede paint :
"That will look nice when it is painted"
    (it is painted).

He got his own opinion and i got mine, I want it all engine. and to let you know this is the 4th engine im gonna put right now in this camaro. the 1st was a mild 454, the 2nd 489 blown 8-71 with 10lb of boost and the 3rd is the 555ci with 250 shot that never been used.

I love to keep my hood closed and nothing shows out of it with a sleeper or a fair cam and cruise everywhere, but when I push the throttle (WOT) I wanna see something scary

    A 582 is 4.60 bore X 4.375 stroke. low deck
    A 598 is 4.60 bore X 4.50 stroke. tall deck.
I would build the 598 instead of the 572.
The 598 has the 4.60 bore will help to "un-shroud" the valves better.

632 is a srp shelf piston and the 355 darts will work fine for the street lower rpms .i have built 580s and that will take a custom piston 9.800 deck 6.385 rod and 4.375 crank bore 4.600the 385 bmf are abit over kill for street use if your are building a pump gas engine if not then go right up to a 800 lifte cam them bigger heads will not be that good at lower rpm with a 700 lift cam i would build a 632 before a 598 the 572 i built that back 20 years ago that was a big deal then yes i would not wast my time with one now

If he already has a set of 355 Dart heads than that will work fine.
Even street 540's are using a 335 CNC Dart or a 335 CNC AFR head.
I have seen the a street 582 take an AFR 357 cc.
I.M.O,. a street 632 can take a 385 BMF or the new Brodix 377 Head Hunter heads if it see's over 6,000 rpm's.
Scott Shaifiroff also thinks his street 632 with 10.5 to 1 comp. ratio that see's peak hp at 6,200 rpm's and a peak torque of 845 at 4,600 rpms needs a CNC ported Dart Pro 2 head with a port volume of 380 cc's.

well i have 375 cc and do not think i would run that much head for the street for i have a 10to1 632 i drive so i think i know ?? going from a 350 bmf to a 385 bmf at a lower lift cam mild 700s you will not see any thing on the EX side and may be 10 cfms with the bigger 385 heads but he has a set of big chiefs just used them and run the big cam and hi ch and throw every thing out the window

Well,I could be wrong and Scott Schafiroff could also be wrong.
