    Not sure exactly where I am wanting to be on compression. Just wanting to put together a decent motor that will Push a 84 Monte down a 1/8 mile track. I had a 11 to 1 360 Chevy with double humps and was wanting to try a Big Block.

    Anyone know some piston part numbers I can use with my Vortec heads on the 454?

    call je/srp i have not seen any of them V tech heads from what i know is they have a very small chamber and flow very good . a modifed close chamber piston could work or be rework to fit the head .you never said what CR you need a flat top may work on your 454 .your not building a 427? that 454 flat top will not work in a 427 wrong CH on the piston you will need a small dome piston for the 427 less stroke abit less CR if your looking for hi CR

    Gonna just leave it as a 454. Not to concerned on compression ratio will be running race fuel. gonna get pistons and figure out compression then get a cam. Thanks fo rall your help.
