Alright guys new guy here that wants to know what you think about my 496 combo. 496 eagle rotating assembly edelbrock rect. heads 10 7 1 comp. comp cam hyd. roller .612 lift 314 duration 110 lobe sep. 830 hp carb vic jr intake or rpm air gap undecided on that the car is 1966 nova 9 inch with 390 gears m 22 I want a street strip car that I can drive and beat it up at the strip. So let me know what you think more cam less cam vic jr or rpm air gap? Just want your opinions Thanks in advance Tom

How much HP are you looking for? I would drop the CR about a 1/2 point so you'd have no trouble with the weazle water gas, and probably a slightly milder cam. At 496 inches the single plane Victor will work, but how ya gonna hook it up on the street?
It'll be a handful.Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

Well not sure about the hooking up but Im gna use cal tracs and split monos the front end Im getting ready to buy the chassisworks front clip just gotta save a few more dollars.

The hooking part may be a problem Im gonnause cal trac bars and split monos the front will be a chassisworks clip Im still pinching pennies for it. As far as horsepower I just want a strong running car on and off the strip Im gna call and get some cam recomendations from places Thanks Tom
