Well I did the P.C Dyno on the Comp Cams Link . I could not find that Camshaft that you Listed . But this is the Top Pick in a Hydraulic Roller that They said to use http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/Ca...?csid=445&sb=0 With this camshaft in the 402 BB as above . The H.P#s are 487.4 at 5500 RPM's and 495.4 Ft-lbs at 4500 RPM's . I do think a Solid Roller Camshaft would be a Better Camshaft to use . I am Sure Pat.M will know the right one to Run . He is Very good with BB Chevy Builds .Last edited by tango; 01-11-2009 at 05:58 PM.

If the Camshaft Grinder says he can do it ? Not Sure what this engine will be used For . Street / Strip car under 3500 Lbs with a 4.10 Gear 3000 Stall would be ok . I think that Intake will hold back some H.PWisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age

if your going just to drive it at low speed stop and go and low rpm i would look at the cam i email you your engine is small cid. if a 454+ i would say ok .the 396 can i feel can be over cam ez so at the bottom it will be a pig. if you want to stay on the rpm all the time you could go big? if that is what your looking for ? i do not know. but we talk about the core regrind i did say if they say they can do it . then have them grind them numbers should be ok . will it be the best cam to do the job at hand ? no if you never get past 2000 rpms . carb is to big. you truck is heavy so with more stall to make your carb work and make the cam work better more gear more rpms may be hard on parts. i would only grind a cam for max tqLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-11-2009 at 06:15 PM.

Pat how will that Regular Performer intake work out on that Build ? Would the RPM or Weiand Stealth make more Power ?Wisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age

the performer will work ok better with a 1 inch open spacer or the rpm the weiand may work better at hi rpms hard to say i have never back to back a edelbrock rpm to a weiand i have used the weiands on some builds on the bigger stuff the team G was the one to use many years ago and still works good but there is better out there nowLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-11-2009 at 09:56 PM.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
