    Question loads of tourque and Hp needed?

     



    I have a 83 454 7.4L and im looking to throw it into my mud bogger. But i want to throw a new cam valves and rockers into it before i throw it in. Can anyone recomend whats the best on the market?

    you have to give more info then that if you want any input like what is your cr what heads small o ports big o ports rect ports stock gm or? solid cam roller or hyd roller flat lifter cam solid cam . intake headders size how heavy of a truck any No s. i can say that i have done some engine for this sport and i would lean to a small soild roller

    Hi Pat, thanks for attempting to help, and sorry for the inadequate info.

    The heads are standard and the info of the cast number produced the following.

    Oval Port Open type 118cc chamber 256/114cc ports.

    The crank is standard 454 for a 1983 IV

    No cam or lifter have been fitted yet as ive stripped the whole bloc down just to the casing and looking to re build with some serious HP and torque.
