Bypassing Gen V 454 oil cooler
Hi All, first post, blah blah balh...
Trying to fire up a GenV 454 with the block plumbed oil cooler, not the oil filter adapter type. I can add an oil cooler to the lines, but that is an extra so many quarts of oil, and I would rather avoid that. Any thoughts on how to bypass this without killing the engine? If I plug the NPT tapped holes in the pan rail, will the oil internally bypass? I may use the oil cooler for later running in the car (71 Vette), but for start up on the driveway, I won't need it.
Good to be here, gonna have lotsa BBC questions, seems like a good group for info on these motors.
Best regards,
Tom...what's good fuel mileage got to do with anything?

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
