I'm like you, I like Edelbrocks. However, since this is mainly a race engine I think I would look at Holley. As much as I love the Edelbrocks, I honestly feel they are more of a street carb. I have a 460 Ford that will someday go into a drag car, and a Holley will go on that one.

As for CFM, etc. you might want to talk to a tech at Holley and give them all your specs and see what they say.

The Speed Demon 850 Annular would be my choice, with mechanical secondaries.

We run a 1050 Dominator on a 514" Ford on E-85, and a Vindicator built 850 now flowing 930 on a 501" Ford.... Different brand, but probably similar fuel and air flow requirements....

Probably so, Pat.... This is the motor we freshened and ran the compression up to 13.5:1---Cuz we're running E-85 and we can!!!! First two seasons the engine was 10.5:1 on gas, with the 930 Vindicator built Holley that is now on the little engine.... ( PS---Just ordered a new carb from Quick Fuel for the new Windsor on E-85..... They seem to be fairly sharp, and their prices are quite reasonable.....as far as overpriced carbs go... Gonna have it flowed when it gets here and see how "accurate" their numbers are.....)

They really have a lot of neat stuff and the shipping shouldn't be too bad for you. It's one of those kind of places I'd love to visit with a check that had no limit on the number of zeros I could put in!!
