454 BB Chev VS 502 BB Chev
I think I have toasted some parts in my 454 BB engine....My question
is, if I went to a 502 BB engine, Would any of the 454 parts fit the 502.
such as heads, oil pan, cam, crank, etc.....Thanks R dobbs

Pat, I bought the engine 8 yrs ago, it is a vette engine, I think a
L 88, don't know much more than that on the 454.....I was just
thinking about trying to come up with a 502 block for more cubic
inches...Haven't bought one yet...r dobbs

L88 was a 427 block LS 5 and 6 for hi hp 454 .if you want more cid out of the block you have a 496 498 are not hard to do. but you will not use much of the old 454 . sounds like you have a two piece rear main seal block so you want to use a block that your heads will fit. like oil pan all tin etc it needs to be a GM mark 4 block as well or the dart world or the newer cnc bowtie block. but not the marine 502 mark 5 or 6. with a seal adapter that will let you use your old crank in a one piece seal block mark 5 or 6 block but head s will not seal up on the new open deckIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

save alot of money just turn the 454 to a 10.5 compression 496
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
