rectangle port intake on oval port heads

Hello, I have a 1967 Nova with a 454 big block and 074 factory ZL1/L88 aluminum heads and an Edelbrock 2-4 intake. I am planning to swap to a ZZ502 crate motor kit and was thinking that I might be able to use the 2-4 intake (rect. port) on the oval port ZZ 502 heads. Will this hurt performance and if so how much.

    Thanks

You probably will never notice it. It is not the ideal deal as I am sure you already know, but it will work. Go for it a 502 w/2 4's, nice.
God, guns, cars and 1 wife, I would say I have it all.

yep it has been done many times just use the rect port gaskets .if woried then you could close the roof down with A&B putty but in time it will work off and come down . i have tig welded the ports down but abit of work . so just bolt it on less you want the ports the same size and that would be $$

I know it's been done but I also have heard it's not good. It will result in intake flow reversion. Won't hurt anything but performance IMO ............

I agree with Pat. Won;t hurt a thing, heck on the sprint car we are running hilborn injection that was port matched for a set of brodix heads ( big big ports) that setup is bolted on a set of stock 305 heads and I gaurantee ya my right foot and the guys behind me can't tell of any problems.. Now keep in mind if I was Steve Kinser or such I would want it right.
