Port matching intake to heads
I am putting together a ZZ502 and am going with an Edlebrock intake.
I checked the gaskets to the head and they match up real close, but when I matched them to the intake the intake manifold ports are much smaller.
Should I grind out the intake manifold to match the gaskets?
This is not a race car and will be limited to 6000 rpm.
Car is a 1967 Nova with Richmond 6 speed and 3.73 rear gears.
Thanks for your advise!!!

you want the intake somewhat smaller about 060 to 080 all the way around the port.i would not do anything .you will not see any gain by opening up the port you could make things worseIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
