why is the timing mark jumping all over about +or- 10 degrees

more than likely it is your dist. is the dist. new or used. as you bring the rpm up does it stop moving around.Sometime Kool is the Rule But Bad is Bad

well i never played with the ram jet dist but that the first place to look sounds like no curve springs or the cam is walking ? or no thurst plate on the cam ?Irish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

pat being a new gm performance crate motor it would be my luck what would be the easist way to check the dist

take the cap off and the rotor there should be curve springs under the rotor ? if no cuve set up under the rotor a solid shaft then the it is doing all curve with a control box then it could be a bad box or bad ground ? or they did not put the cam hold down plate on the cam ? i had a boat engine about 17 years ago do something like this it it was bad spark plugs messing with the control boxIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

thank's guys i got to thinking and the (i guess) distantance from the coil to the dist about 2ft using a reg sparkplug wire was the problem i got a coil wire remounted the coil and all's well
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
