I picked up a set of 049 heads, is there a left or right side or will they go on either side of the block? and is the spark plugs angle different from one side to the other?

there is no rigth or left

whats that mean? this is my first build, thanks for any help.

well with most v8 that run one head casting your valves are not going to be in the same order when that head is used on the other side of the engine. not just BBC s. lets go by firing order by the bank number one side is ex and intake .used that head to the number two side will be intake ex order as well as the pistons have valve cuts to work in the order of valves as well . see if you look at the heads hear they are setting with valve running the same order ? the heads could never fit you EX would be coming out your intake manifold
