Question Anyone using these valve cover hold downs from Spectre?

    http://www.spectreperformance.com/#CATALOG.52985

    OK, here's the dealio.....

One of my passenger side valve cover bolt holes is stripped

I plan on installing a heli-coil, but also want to add studs to all of the holes so I can pull the covers for valve adjustments without ruining anymore threads

Now, the usual T-Bolts/Wing-Bolts won't fit because my motor is recessed into the firewall and has minimal clearance for the rear bolts

So I'm looking into skinny hold downs that have separate studs like the Spectre ones above

    Anyone use these?

Are the caps steel or plastic?

The local speed shops don't carry them on the shelves, so I can't see for myself until I place an order

I just wanna make sure that the caps are steel and not chrome plastic that snaps onto the allen heads

I had a bunch of plastic Spectre caps that cover bolt heads and most of them took flight lol

It's smart to ask because that plastic junk that most everyone is selling these days just don't stand up. I had bought some rails that my spark plug wire tied down to.
They are real nice looking the way the are supossed to bolt to the valve covers and all.
They even said they fit my year vette so I got them. They didn't fit, they hit the inside fender wells. So it's always good to as some one else, besides the dealer.
    Dang it all!!!
