Heads, new or old?
I have a set of 781's do you think I should rebuld them or buy new? just looking at cost, the 68 camaro will be just a street/show car, I will have to up grade from stock, springs ect, because Ill be using a roller cam from comp cams. Dont know if I can reuse valves. The wife has me on a diet patch, but I don't think its work'in, she said you have that thing on right? said, ya, on my arm. She said, dumb ass, it go's over your mouth!

i have some nice street rollers and some nice solid rollers that can run on the street and are Ez on valve train any way your going i would never use stock valves for a roller i use s steel valve. i have rebuilt the 781 and 049 other has well they work but you going to put some coin in them less they do not need to be redone .you can buy new thats up to you and your moneyIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

Get yourself some aluminum ones, if you can afford it. Get's an extra hundred pounds off the front of your Camaro, and lets you bump up the compression (plus they flow really good out of the box). If you want to look retro, fill in the aftermarket name brand stamp with JB weld (and sand smooth), then paint the heads to match the block. The moment somebody says to me, "This is very risky," is the moment it becomes attractive to me.

Racing Head Service makes a couple of dandy cast iron heads, #11301-02 for hydraulic roller with max 0.600" lift or #11301-03 for solid roller with max 0.750" lift. When I do a DynoSim, I always de-rate the flow by 5% just to remove the fluff from the manufacturer's published flow rates. Even with doing that, either of these heads make insane power for a reasonable price. Each of these part numbers is for the 320cc intake runner models.
