    8.1 vortec

     



    I have installed a 8.1 G.M. (496) based indmar marine engine into my 1967 chevelle 450hp 560tq has anyone ever tried this?????

    In my experience, marine cams don't work very well in street engines. If the cam was changed, I would think it would work pretty well.

    We have some 8.1's at Work in the Large Trucks . Have not had one all a-part yet . But we have one that runs Low oil PSI . soon it will need to be re done .

    HMMMM really? boy sure used alot of them 500/500 222/222 @050 on 114 and some of the rollers 483/ 224@050 on 115. and other no phone calls used the 350 marine roller on a street car thats the 383 HQ crate engine cam used from gm is a.350 marine grind that i have used as well .marine engines need to get a boat up on plane so they make very good power

    I will agree with you the first time I drove it I came back home told my wife I should sell that engine Iwould get killed with it............ naaaaaaaaaaaaaaa but it is a torque monster
