    Recommended Assembly lubrication

     



    Pat and Jerry:
    Any assembly lub for recommendation for a roller hydraulic cam with roller rockers engine? The specific engine is a new 502 gen VI.....

    I will have to ask the same. Years ago I used some by sealed power, green and real sticky. Not sure what they use these days?

    cams a roller i soak lifters in hi zinc oil brad pen break in oil . lube all parts .with assembly lube . moly on push rod tips and balls if stock if not and roller rockers a soak them has well . piston wrist pins i use .speed pro . elgin pro. stock assembly lube i .used about 5 types so it has a lot to do with how long engine is going to sit . i short block most with assemble grease made by joe gibs on bearings cam journals some in oil pump on gears for fast prime . wall s. timming set . valve springs . rockers .oil seals . lifters all get brad pen oil . valve stems i use assembly oil or grease on

    nothing wrong with this stuff i used it for many years and there are many like stp hair thicker i use that on rope seals. there that are much the same . any time you prime the engine your washing some of this stuff off bearings that why they need to fire up fast the sticky stuff great for parts that take time to see oil to them like piston pins.rocker balls .push rod tips . fuel pump rod . valve stems cam lobes
