    I dont know but iv been told, gen vi cam and timing set in a gen iv block.

     



    Was told this would work , has anyone done this? Putting a gen VI -STEP NOSE- cam and timing set from a GEN VI BIG BLOCK CHEVY - ZZ 502- into a early 1977 454. this way cam button would not be used.
    The wife has me on a diet patch, but I don't think its work'in, she said you have that thing on right? said, ya, on my arm. She said, dumb ass, it go's over your mouth!

    there many post on here that i posted about this yep many times if you use a GM steel core cam use a melonite dist gear . this is childs play i took a mark VI machined it for mark IV oil pan . timming chain cover . steel billet main caps for a two PC crank and used a mark IV cam and chain set and two PC seal crank started life as a ZZ 502 now is a 540 dual turbo killer

    Thanks for the info, did not know some of these parts cross over-- or could be made to cross over.

    yep you can mix and match just have to watch push rods . dampers . old mark IV heads will leak on a VI block . oil pans . you can put a IV crank in a VI bock i done every thing as for swaping so just ask
