    Pat,
Can you help me understand what "...for heat the stock heat for the 73 454 should come up 5/8 short reach tapper seat" means? Also "deso"?

I'm thinking "deso" = "Denso" as in Nippondenso... Heat range to equal what the "books" show for the stock plug in a 1973 BBC 454.
5/8 thread, short reach with a taper seat.
Champ could be Champ brand or Champion brand plugs..

I like an AC brand or Bosch in comparison.. but to each their own! LOL..

The "Denso" makes sense as you explain it. I'm familiar with "heat range" on plugs, but didn't see any reference to 1973 in the question, so the numbers didn't really make sense to me. "Champ" and "AC" were no issue, but "Tapper" thrown in was enough to put me in a tailspin . Thanks, Mike.

781 head would be a short reach plug and would be a tapered seat and would be about a 1973 454 head he should of knew that they do just sell them under denso with on nip on them

well if you had a chevy it may 1973 was about the last year before they took the nuts off the 454 the 781 head s were a short reach taper plug
and about that time frame so thats a good place to look in the book and should be a rn8c or a rts 44
