will try to upload some other pics. Didn't think to take any pics or thoroughly inspect the guide plates. Was thinking Edelbrock makes so many of these...., but will definitely look closely at them tonight.

pic of rocker, will look around tonight and look for any signs of the rods hitting anything. BTW, once i figure this out, I'm definitely looking for some advice as to what type and/or size cam to go back with? thanks, David

how about a pic of the rest of the rocker arm---the part that touches the valve tip and possibly the area where spring retainer is closest???looks like wear pattern around ball in rocker may be pushed away from valve-----------

I'll take more pics tonight and post them, thanks
I did double check the studs and none of them had backed out. All threaded in and tight. I'll take a closer look at everything tonight. Other than a little lifter noise on drivers side the engine ran and sounded good. Just glad I took some things apart and didn't just try and adjust the noise out..., otherwise i think some of those push rods were about to do some real damage...

For some reason I can only upload one pic at a time. But the guides look perfect. I'll add a pic of them, but the camera flash makes it look like they have wear and they don't. This pic will show the only unusual thing I saw and that was some stud side wear on only a couple of the studs.

Pic of bottom of rocker arm. Thinking that maybe the new springs on the heads were to much for the older parts? My rockers and push rods have 100,000 miles on them so maybe they just wore out? Thinking of going back with new stamped steel stock type rockers and stock length push rods (per edelbrock spec) now I just need to decide if I keep my new cam or or upgrade to a roller cam. Any advice would be greatly appreciated., thank you, David

Summit sell some rockers they call nitro that have more lift. Cost like $175.00 think that'd do the trick? Will try an upload a pic of the rocker tip but didn't photo to good. I could also get roller rockers but I believe you said they weren't worth the extra money. Any ideas as to hat cam I should put in the engine ? Thanks Pat

My pic of the tip didn't come out clear, but I didn't see any off center wear or marks. The studs are what came with the heads, do you think new rockers with more reach would solve the problem? Sorry but I'm not familiar with the poly nuts your talking about. But if they'll fix it I'm great with it. David

Edelbrock 2162. 218/228 @ .500. But heard some say that maybe I should go with roller cam? And what roller rockers do think are good?
