750 are to big . can get vaccum at base plate of carb or drill and tap by the intake carb base .would not mess with a plug not very good to thread .less you want to turn a plug out of round stock 6061 t6 then tap it .then use 620 loctite to hold it in the intake if you do not want to weld hole upIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

yes carbs are abit to big for the street. its a mild bbc.? if not and has s big roller cam in it it very well could not have the vacuum to work the brake booster any ways if its a big cam and you want to keep them carbs your looking at a very loose converter /hi stall more stall with a lite car like you haveLast edited by pat mccarthy; 04-08-2014 at 04:09 PM.

I am building a 496 Stroker with a Edelbrock Chevy Cross Ram X-C96 intake . I'm using a pair of 500 Edelbrocks. I'm wanting to put it in a 1930 to 1932 A model. I'm still in the process of getting all of the engine componets together to send to the machine shop so I haven't ran into that problem yet . if you get time post some pics of your progress.

when it comes to a cam this engine think about the stall if your going auto trans . better to be tame on the cam as in a very lite car you allways need more stall then you would think i built a 548 14to1 .roller cam mild 750 lift low 270 at 050 lsa 108 used a very loose9inch convert tries never hooked you just brunt them off threw 3 gears long as it was somewhat straight there is really no need to liftLast edited by pat mccarthy; 04-09-2014 at 07:43 PM.

and you gotta remember that when working with cross ram manifolds , header lengths become critical as the lengths-----------

Love the ol cross rams intakes. I've never had the pleasure of owning one but I've had my share of tunnel rams and low profile dual quads on the street, for myself and customers. On T-rams 450 Holleys work great with sb and bb, 600 Holleys on a more radical bb. Low profile Edelbrock dual quads, they rec 600 for bb applications but I've had better street-ability with their 500 carbs. They were rebuilt 468 pump gas stock o-port head rats, cams around .575 lift,,,,just kruzers.

Hello I just dynoed my 498 with the X-C96 yesterday 625 horse 575 torque. at 3700 it was making 559 for torque . i also compared it to a team g intake with a 1050 dominator team g made more power but average numbers it was 1 hp above the cross ram . For a 1 horsepower I'll take the wow factor with the x-c96. My build is a solid street roller not the biggest but idles at 10 inches of vacuum and is a dual quad that starts with a simple turn of the key . I put 1200 miles on this motor before having a oil pick-up issue . motor repaired and it purrs like a kitten at 11 to 1200

A few simple things to do to make the intake drive well don't go overboard on carbs mine has a set of 500 hundreds 56 jets in front and a stock plate set in back mechanical secondaries . you also have to balance the left and right side temporary i used some heater hose and fitting between the two banks accessing the blow out plugs . solid roller cam 247/257 @50 pulls to 6200 and will run more
