you must have the cast cover gen 6 ? they make covers competition products sell one but i have used a s.a gear 78537t-9 if useing a mark 4/5 cam with out a step nose cam in a mark 6 block ? useing a mark 4/5 chain set ? a steel gm mark 5 cover should clear and will fit the big timming oil seal pan if this is a mark 4 engine the stock gm cover? many of the stock china covers will hit at the bottom were the seal hit

better re check what you have going on..... cams to far out did you check gear alignment . who.s chain set . you using a thust washer ? is the cam gear cut for it . over the years i put about a 100 roller chains in mark 4s blocks . only time i seen them hit is with a china cover. Gm did put a cheap rolled pin roller in the 366/427 or every one i got in to was replaced .the front timming cove cast in to the block and tin timming cover is the same as the 9.800 deck from 65 till about lat 80s. small thing like 1965 has no dowel pins and some covers have timming tabs on for dif size dampers so they fit
