69 427 2 bolt
I have a 1970 Corvette orignally a 454 4-speed Coupe. Now has no engine and trans but I do have a 69 427 2 bolt and M21 Trans.. Casting on the block is 3963512 pass crank is 3804815 cast and heads are cast 3931063 from what I've found it is supposed to be a December 1969 block "LE" 335 horse 470 ft/lb pass car. I'd like to pull 45+ horse and 490+ torque out of it. Torque wouldn't be a problem but the HP needs big improvement. What might be my best options without a huge budget?? Any help would be great..

First thing I would do is cc the chambers. I have seen specs from 100 to 106 cc's and even with that range, you have no idea what has been done to them by those who owned them before you. You must know the static compression ratio of the motor before you can match up anything else, like a cam, so get busy with a burette, rubbing alcohol and food coloring. Do you live in Michigan?

If its not a numbers car----------look at losing some weight also----------go with some edelbrock heads/manifold/water pump and take 100lbs off front end.
